Charlie is a principal in Douglass Winthrop Advisors LLC. Previously, Charlie was a Founder and Managing Member of Scotsman Capital Management LLC. Prior to forming Scotsman, Charlie was the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer for Victory SBSF Capital Management (SBSF). Charlie was also the Chief Market Strategist for Key Asset Management (now known as Victory Capital Management), which acquired SBSF (Spears Benzak Salomon & Farrell) in 1995. Prior to joining SBSF, Charlie was an analyst with Prudential-Bache Securities and Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. He was named to the Institutional Investor All-American Research Team from 1985 to 1988.

Charlie serves on the Advisory Board of the Allwin Initiative for Corporate Citizenship at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He is a Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland, Maine, and Treasurer of the Pool Association in Biddeford Pool, Maine. He was formerly a Director of Housing Works and a Trustee of The HealthCare Chaplaincy, both based in New York, and was a member of the MBA Advisory Board at Tuck.

Charlie is a member of the Class of 1982 at Dartmouth College; he graduated Magna cum laude in 1981. He received his M.B.A. from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in 1983, where he was named a Tuck Scholar.
