Jay is a principal in Douglass Winthrop Advisors LLC. Previously, Jay was a Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at JPMorgan Chase, where he provided strategic advice to companies in the technology, media and financial services industries. Jay also worked at Hambrecht & Quist and the Office of Management and Budget.

Jay is a director of the Conservation Fund, and is former Chairman of the American Farmland Trust. He serves as a trustee for charitable and family trusts. He was an elected representative in the town of Old Greenwich.

Jay received an MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1992 and an AB from Harvard College in 1986.
